Walk on Water: A New Sports

Have you ever tried walking on the water? Impossible? yes, but not to this group of people who have recently been introducing a new sports to the world.

Many people from our past generations have been trying to unlock the greatest mystery in our world; one of them is by walking on the water. Well, it is long ago but things change now. Some historical statement says that this kind of sports have been created by the Greek, but now it was recreated and it’s been titled as one of the most impossible looking activities anyone could ever seen.

This new sport required an active body, in which a person would run as fast as he could on the surface of water. It may really sound impossible but that what is this sport is aiming for. This sport is called the “Liquid Mountaineering”.

Liquid Mountaineering maybe the biggest human breakthrough this century and it’s already uniting open minded athletes around the world. The mantra, “you have to believe” has become a new call to arms for those tired of simply swimming, bathing, and drinking water. You have to believe.
What does this sport made possible? Well, there are obviously several factors in the realm of physics and science that must be understood first. As a liquid mountaineering you don’t pretend to be a scientist…..you are a believers. It is the belief in oneself, your gear and your desire not to be boxed in that makes it all possible.

The sport is all about running on water. To do that we need some Science knowledge in here, if you got the right angle and speed, anything can bounce off the surface of water for some time before it sinks. For example, if you throw a rock in the lake with a right amount of speed, spin, and angle, that rock will start bouncing and touches the surface of the water many times before it sinks. If we could follow the same concept that enable the rock to bounce on the water then we can do that too.
In order to obtain that goal as a Liquid Mountaineering you need these things; good quality rubber running shoes, preferable winter shoes, a cold lake, and a good entry point to the lake. The first step that you have to do is to start running towards the bank of the lake and keep running at a top speed placing every step at such an angle that instead of thumping on water with the whole foot at once, the foot should skim the surface from the heel to the toes. The process could be perfected only with practice, but its definitely possible to make a 3,4 or 5 steps before sinking on the water.
